Of all musical periods, Güttler is primarily devoted to
the Baroque era. In his words: "Because nothing can he diguised in the music of Bach and his contemporaries. This music demands a directness of speech and clearness of diction. lt is the pure embodiment of clarity and simplicity - but of cuorse this also means that it is risky." Güttler is not content simply with showcasing the brilliance of the trumpet. His tones are unsusually soft and richly shaded, allowing the material to be realized and transcended. Güttler ´sings on the trumpet. As a solist, he is never limited to a narrow interpretation of the music, or the technical aspects of performance. He is truly an artist strictly whose medium is trumpet. |
